Job Summary
Are you a dynamic self-starter, quick thinking with a real passion for excellence and strong communication skills? We are looking for someone with sales experience who thrives on engaging with others and successfully building relationships with plan sponsors and plan consultants alike, to grow our Retirement Solutions business. In this role you will create or strengthen relationships with key decision-makers or other influencers at institutional plan sponsors as well as plan consultants/advisors. Your primary responsibility will be on selling to churches and like-minded ministries such as mission sending organizations and Universities and Colleges. It will be important for you to be able to identify not only professionally but also personally with our mission of serving those who serve the Lord.
What You'll Do
Building and implementing the business plan to achieve growth/new business goals for small institutions by building senior/executive contacts with decision-makers at targeted institutions and with plan consultants/investment advisory firms
Identifying key prospects and targets and demonstrating proficiency in both the discovery process and moving through the Know, Target, Prospect, Value, Commit stages.
Assisting with lead generation marketing campaigns, cold calling, emails, and RFPs
Developing and delivering sales presentations
Managing multiple facets of the sales process with multiple opportunities including coordinating meetings, content, follow-tasks, phone calls, proposals, presentations, commitment, and initial stages of onboarding.
Inputting accurate and timely information into CRM relative to sales process and data necessary to create realistic sales and revenue projections
Seamlessly transition sold clients to the Relationship Manager/Client Service team.
Providing input on market trends, competitor analysis, or other business insight gathered in the field.
Assisting Retirement Relationship Managers on retention and participating in key initiatives within the company will be important to success.
What You'll Need
Must be a member of a Southern Baptist or Evangelical Church
2+ years of sales or relationship management experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
An understanding of retirement plan products and services, preferably within the Church Plan space or institutional not-for-profit retirement services market
A competitive personality with strong critical thinking skills
Ability to quickly establish trust and confidence
Basic understanding of 403(b)(9) plans
Understanding of Church Administration and their ministries
Possess keen business insight and results driven.
History of business development through new plan sales and retention
Ability to communicate effectively: strong written and oral presentation skills
Persuasive and compelling style with experience at conflict resolution
Advanced ability to think analytically and act strategically
Travel is required up to 20% annually. Proficient skills in MS Office and appropriate GuideStone system applications.
Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters.
